Zanzibar wins Emerging Tourism Destination and  Market Award at The Global Tourism Council 2018 at Cairo Egypt whereby the Award was received of behalf of the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar by The Minister for Information, Tourism and Heritage HON. Mahmoud Thabit Kombo. This is a rare award which goes to countries and cities that have presented outstanding and examplary efforts to promote their Tourism Industry and to Governments and Leaders who have exhaled their tireless commitments towards promoting Tourism in their countries. The Global Tourism Council Chair Mr. Iqbal Mulla said that he had great opportunity of spending an hour with Zanzibar President  Dr. Ali Mohamed Shein during his official visit in India and he deserves this award from his tireless efforts and commitment in bringing Zanzibar name and brand in the global arena to the likes of India and Egypt in emerging market. Zanzibar is much much smaller to Egypt and India sub continent but the great work done by their leader Dr. Ali Mohamed Shein
the President of Zanzibar deserves this award. This was said by the Chair of GLobal Tourism Council 2018 Mr Iqbal Mulla and he hopes for the next convention to be held in Zanzibar
